Viswaroopam is an Indian movie directed by Mani Ratnam based on the novel of the same name by Annie Proulx. The story is about an Indian-American neurosurgeon, Dr. Saroo who’s adopted in Australia and returns to India in the search of his real parents. This film shows how we can find our family without looking for them and how we don't need to be born in a particular place to belong anywhere else in this world.With music composed by A. R.Rahman and the cinematography by Santosh Sivan, this is a heart-warming movie with a lot of emotional scenes. Meanwhile, the censor board has censored the film under a ‘U’ certificate with a total duration of 141 minutes, after having been reduced from 158 minutes.The censor board chief Leela Samson clarified that the film just had four intimate scenes and that they were not scandalous in nature at all. The director had reportedly chopped off these scenes after getting cold feet once the Sri Lankan problem was in full swing. This movie will hit theatres in May 2013 all over south India. The film was delayed due to Sankranti festival, which was a big festival in some parts of India. Expected release date is May 2013. The cinematography and background score of the movie is highly appreciated, but the performance of Suriya has been criticised by panning it as too melodramatic and over-the-top. The audience in some movies theatres during the early shows were heard laughing at some scenes which led to Suriya trying to control his expressions, with mixed results.
